No studio? No problem!

So many photogrpahers have had to close studio during this past year, but unlike many other small businesses, photographers have the advantage of being able to work from home or even outdoors. Having a studio is not essential to our craft. Although it is nice to have, especially at this time of year, brrr!

Some studios have had to close their doors permenantly, some are just closed for the duration of the lockdown. Either way, many clients have been left stuck. Some sessions can always be rescheduled, but some things only happen once and you want to make them as memorable as possible. A 1st birthday cake smash for example.

I was recently approached by a lady who had to cancel her daughter's cake smash due to lockdown. She had seen some of my composite work on Facebook and wondered if it was possible to composite a cake smash. I had my usual answer ready and waiting, where there's a will there's a way! I won't lie, this was my first cake smash composite, but I have to say I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.

Whilst you can't beat all the giggles and fun of being in the midst of a messy cake smash it is still possible to have a studio style photogrpah of your own DIY smash if you know someone who can composite images.

So, umm, did I mention I love doing composites nearly as much as I love taking photographs? Just saying!
