Oh my God you guys! I finally ... FINALLY, got my first newborn sessiond done! After numerous cancellations and no-shows I can finally add newborn to the list of genres I have tried. More practice is needed before I will feel comfortable about asking for money without feeling like I'm rippng off the parents, but I feel much more confident now that I have one under my belt.
I won't say it was easy going, little miss didn't want to settle for the most part, but patience is it's own reward and after a feed and a nappy change we managed to get a few shots done. As usual with my sessions I had way more I wanted to do than I had time to get done, but that just means I have a list of ideas still to try for next time :)
Lessons learned: I need to practice my wrapping techniques, so hopefully my next newborn session I'll be able to do more with the wraps than just drape and tuck them. Some of my headbands need adjusting as I felt they were a little tight, so I'm going to see if I can remove the elasticated part and replace it with a stretchy lace or a ribbon that can be tied instead. And I really need to invest in a deark wooden floormat or something as my bit of gre wood vinyl has seen better days.
